19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden tour victory, took control to create a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
